When camp is not is session, we are often able to attend conferences, where we get to talk about camp! Over the past few years we have been pleased to attend the Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s conferences in Buffalo and Rochester. Several weeks ago we traveled to Rochester for their conference and hope to be in Buffalo this Saturday to do it again! We have enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk with many pastors and leaders who are interested in using camp to further their own ministries. We usually set up our putting green to give people an excuse to stop by our table and many great conversations come from that! We pray that the conversations and contacts will result in some relationships for the future.
This past week, we were privileged to attend the National Workers and Elders Conference at Hollywood Bible Chapel in Hollywood, FL. What a joy to be able to spend time with other believers from around the country and hear what the Lord is doing in their areas. We were able to again set up our display table and let people know how the Lord is blessing here in New York. This year we actually manned two tables as the representative from ECS Ministries was unable to attend due to emergency surgery on his eye. The theme of the conference was “The Role of the Church in Revival” and we were challenged from God’s word to make sure that we were right with God before expecting blessings in our own ministries.
For those interested, a number of the messages and seminars were taped and uploaded to the chapel website of Boulevard Bible Chapel. http://boulevardbible.org/chapel/Messages.aspx or visit http://thesermonnetwork.com/sermon-search and search for the Boulevard Bible Chapel channel.
The travel is long – 20 hours down and 20 hours back, but the weather was good and the roads were clear. We even managed to stop for a picture on the beach on the way down and another on the way back! Please pray that the impact of these conferences will be felt in the future and that lives will continue to be changed for Jesus Christ.
