On a wet and stormy Sunday afternoon, over 150 campers arrived at camp to register for Pre-teen 2. Many of them were returning campers but we also had many new campers who had come to experience new things, make new friends and hear about the Amazing grace offered through the Lord Jesus Christ. The line was steady throughout the afternoon and well before dinner everyone was checked in and ready to go!
Following registration every camper is required to do a swim test, so they hurry down to their cabins, get changed and head straight to the pool. Each camper will get either a yellow band as a deep end swimmer or a red band for swimming in the shallow end.
Those that have chosen horses will also have to go down to the corral for their orientation with the wranglers and a horse test to try to match them with the right horse.
Dinner is next and the first night happened to be tacos! These are always a great favorite for campers and staff! New friends are made and campers get to know each quickly over dinner. They also get to meet their new counselors and find out what to expect for the rest of the week!
Chapel is next and is always a lot of fun! Our theme is God’s Amazing Grace to us. Our speaker is Bill Wendlandt and he will be taking us through the life of the Apostle Paul, who experienced the amazing grace of God in his life. There will also be plenty of skits, music, fun and focus on the scriptures.
Our theme verse this week is 2 Timothy 4:7 “I’ve fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” A great verse to remind us all of being faithful to the Lord and finishing strong!
Keep Pre-teen 2 in your prayers. More to follow….
