The week started with the removal of the aluminum panels to reveal the newly poured walls. The house now looks less like a fortress and more like a home! While the concrete contractor was still here, they used their crane to help place the steel beam across the basement.
The next step will be the floor joists and deck and again we want to thank those that have volunteered to come down to camp to help this week. Thanks to AJ McIntee who trenched to make way for water and electricity. Thanks to Dave Larter, Bob Wheeler and Jeff Hand who are assisting Larry in the basement. Thanks also to John Cole who has worked with Stacy this week on projects around camp. We are so grateful for all who pray for camp and for those who give of their time and resources in a myriad of ways.
We are also grateful for the role played by the Property Committee in setting guidelines for this project and for keeping us on track. Enclosing the basement should nearly bring us to the completion of the first phase of the house.
We see a great spiritual lesson also in this project. Paul writing in 1 Corinthians 3: 10 says, “According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.” A well laid foundation is important to a home, but also to a ministry as well as our own lives!
We do value your continued prayers for safety and wisdom.
